I'm the person on the last bike. What a fantastic ride that was. The group who created it is the Cat Herders Union, Local 451.

I have been looking for a picture of these guys for a while. I'm not one of them, I don't know who they are, I don't know why they built these things and it doesn't matter to me. '03 was my first year on the playa and these guys gave me my "Holy shit, I'm at Burning Man" moment. It was my first night there and I was walking around the Esplanade with my friend feeling slightly confused but trying to make sense of things. I walked out toward the man to take a piss on the playa and as I was standing there looking out at the sea of people described only by glow sticks and EL-wire with 4 huge sound systems fighting for my attention these guys rode past me with flames shooting out of their bike trailers. At that point you just can't help being overwhelmed by the experience. You crack, but in a good way. From there you go with it.
